SHARP LABELS

Sharp Labels Ltd arrived in 1987 as a supplier of fanfolded computer labels and work tickets for the electronic data market. Brought to life by current owner and managing director John Sharp it started as a two man / two press operation in a small starter unit in Mills Road Sudbury.

It was not long before the rapid growth of the business warranted an additional starter unit and a 2 colour UV Litho pack to pack printing Ryobi. Sharp labels was well on the way to becoming the company it is today.

 
In 1991 we moved to a 4,500 ft2 unit and acquired a 3 colour Ident 400 flexo press adding multiple colour printed sheets to our ever growing list of finishing capabilities. Through the 90’s Sharp Labels continued to grow and in 1998 expanded the factory with an additional unit adding a 3 col Aquaflex 1650 and Ident re-reeler in the process. Both presses capable of wide web label production.

 
2003 saw us move to our current premises on Ballingdon Hill. After an extensive custom refurbishment the resultant 12,500 ft2 factory became a premises which could be used to successfully produce and store high quality self adhesive labels whilst being large enough to enable the company sustainable expansion to this day. Another 3 colour Aquaflex 1650 was added to our press room and modifications to the original Aquaflex 1650 adding 3 more print stations gave us the multi colour production capability and diversity that was needed to keep ahead in what had become a fiercely competitive manufacturing sector.

Our most recent acquisition is a wide web turret rewinder brought Mar 2009. This addition to our finishing department enabled us to venture much more competitively into the mid-long run roll label market. With glueless core attachment it was the final piece of the pie required to make us truly a complete supplier to all your labelling requirements.
